developed in Finland currently a dispute over whether the future of bilingualism in Finland is to be terminated by law. For we know that Swedish is the second official language in Finland. Representative of the younger generation believe that bilingualism in Finland is survived historically.
That may be good but has Swedish as a second language a very practical advantage. This is related to Danish and Norwegian closely related Swedish understood everywhere in Scandinavia, which can not be said of English.
Because English is there, as for Germany, a foreign language and can all too often, as happened in the example of Germany public viewing, not to mention beautiful irritation. For public viewing in English speaking countries certainly does not mean what it keep German marketing strategists. For in the U.S. or the UK is actually public viewing morgue.
It remains to be seen whether there really a time issue is whether or Swedish as a second language will die out in Finland, as some currently Finn says. In the interest of communication with the other northern European countries with which Finland has traditionally had a different bond than to Russia, Germany or Poland, it is desirable that Swedish remains the second official language of Finland.
Because also for the Germans it is easier to learn Swedish as Finnish.
